big doodle

I found a cardboard box outside the art building a few days ago. I started doodling my usual face collages. I broke open the box so that I could doodle through the whole thing. So I decided to hang this up for the dot dot dot student art show this Saturday.

jeff soto paint walker figure by critterbox

talking to jen today about toys reminded me that the one toy i'll ever possibly need in my collection would be jeff soto's paint walker figure. supposedly it's in production by critterbox. it was was a project that launched in 2005 and was previewed at comicon at critterbox's booth. oh i wish it was out already. it's soo damn cool!

2D / 3D student art show @ calpoly pomona

at our school we have a few annual art shows. there will be one held next weekend on may 24th called 2D/3D. It will also be showing works from graduating seniors at the same time. So come out and check it out! I'll have a few pieces on display as well as many other awesome art students in our department. There will probably be free food, so there's no excuse to not come out. ha!

back from blum & poe

went to check out takashi murakami pieces at blum & poe yesterday. pretty different but unique work from murakami. he seemed to go crazy with half tone style with some random live trace texture goodies. it was pretty neat that he used high glossy varnish to bring out different designs. i'm not really sure what the medium was. i want to say some kind of print/silkscreen. not sure if there was any brush work. then again, his work is always super clean so it's hard to tell.

i've yet to go to RAM to see mcgee's show. soon!!!

my thighs are burnin'

so my buddy, colby and i brought our bikes to school. after we took off for our first ride over to a near by chipotle i ran into him within the first 10 or so feet or riding and we both fell. It led my previous scab to reopen and bleed freely through my jeans. it was awesome. so that's not all. half way there my tire blew. probably due to low psi in my back tire. so i went to get a new tire and a hand pump and we were off again. we biked a few mini uphill roads which killed us. but overall we had a nice time riding around and getting used to fixed gear bikes, fixies, or what have you. i think i'm going to have some crazy looking thighs by the end of this month. o_o
