a few things

Friend and I joined the critical mass ride over at santa monica yesterday. It was pretty nice to be able to ride with a large group of people. The only part I hated was that there were too many street lights and stop signs. Cops were everywhere helping escort and checking that we don't brake the law by running reds or not stopping when we were supposed to. I saw a few people getting tickets. Sucks to be them. :( I think i'll be joining more group rides this month. Critical mass was my 2nd group ride and sure won't be my last.

san diego sdcc 2008

made it to san diego last night and i'm up and searching for the great places to get breakfast around the condo before doing some work today setting up the munky king booth. so far it seems like this place called "the mission" is overall the best at a decent walking distance. now let's just hope this can be a successful "mission" to get some good breakfast on this wonderful morning. i wish i brought my bike. it would have been faster and more fun to get around. maybe next year :)

So I haven't been posting like everyday like I promised. Been busy hanging with friends and family. But I haven't forgotten about working on art! I have a few sketches I'd like to share. But you know what? Last minute announcement again...

another 35 miles

I got back back around 11pm tonight after biking to and from dinner with a few classmates and friend over at savoy in Alhambra. 35 miles have been added to the other 15 miles I biked earlier this morning. That's 50 freakin' miles! I'm not as tired as I thought I'd be. But still tired. I'm just glad I made it home alive. It seemed like I was biking faster on the way back 'cause I wanted to be home asap. I think it has to do with the fact that I was biking in the dark and all I could think about was making it home alive.

Anyways, Savoy for the third time wasn't bad. The curry fish was pretty good but I still dig japanese style curry. The one served at Savoy was a bit weird. I don't really know how to explain it exactly. It was just light curry mixed in finely shredded up radish or something.

yeah... i'm tired.

I attempted to glue this box together with some glue stick I bought over at the store. It sucks 'cause it wont' dry completely. *sigh* oh well.

first mornin' ride

Just got back around half an hour ago from a ride back from my girlfriends place. It was nice and chill as I was biking through the streets where there weren't that many cars. I just wish there weren't random pebbles, glass, or anything on the road that could give me a flat. I haven't gotten one since I've really started to bike a lot. I don't plan to get one either. So I actually dropped by McDonald's to get some breakfast before I really took off home. I know, I know, so unhealthy but I wasn't about to go to a market and buy milk and cereal for the road. ha! Anyways, I think that was my work out for today. I don't know If I'll bike anymore today. I'll see. I'll be posting some daily art soon. (0-0)

Today is officially the first start of a fresh new week that I'm out of school. Summer 2008 will be self employed at home with out school. Sounds dangerous, doesn't it? I would like to think so. It's going to be very easy to fall in the hole of cyberspace called the internet and be stuck there all summer.

I'm going to try to commit to a couple of hours of painting, illustration, photography, ect. each day. I will post the work each day. So keep on checking back! It may just be a doodle, uncompleted painting, photograph of my friend nicks mom, or all of the above. :D

I found a cardboard box outside the art building a few days ago. I started doodling my usual face collages. I broke open the box so that I could doodle through the whole thing. So I decided to hang this up for the dot dot dot student art show this Saturday.

talking to jen today about toys reminded me that the one toy i'll ever possibly need in my collection would be jeff soto's paint walker figure. supposedly it's in production by critterbox. it was was a project that launched in 2005 and was previewed at comicon at critterbox's booth. oh i wish it was out already. it's soo damn cool!
