All About Evil. Found out about this movie while looking for Crispin Glover's film "What is it?" It seems to be one of those awesomely funny horror B movies. Saw the trailer and read some reviews and seems like something I'll enjoy.

Immediately I looked up local show times and guess what? It's being shown near by this Friday at the Landmark Theater in Los Angeles! I think it's being projected outside on a wall at midnight for free(?). Should be a good night with the company of friends and booze.

So recently due to my lack of funds during the times of the bad economy I decide to start selling some of my vinyl toys, again. I sold and shipped this Gary Baseman 12" dunce figure about 3 weeks ago on eBay and and the buyer has not received it yet. After checking with the post office ending with no help I gave eBay a message to figure out are they're any options that they can help resolve the issue. I've been reading some comics and graphic novels recently. I've really been missing out on comics. The last time I read or laid hands on a comic was when Spawn, by Todd McFarlane, issue 25 or 26 was released. It's been awhile. A friend I made half year ago though group bike rides reads a lot of comics and kind of got me back in it. A few that I've finished recently are The umbrella academy, Short Comings, Blankets, Zombie vs Robots, S.O.S, and more.

I'm currently reading Y:The Last Man. I'm on issue 31 of 60. I can't stop reading it because every issue ends on a breath taking cliff hanger!

By the way, I'm officially done with college. I've got my bachelors! whoopie! Masters? I'll think about it. I'll be walking in mid June. Now the mission is to land a job. Anyone hiring a poor graphic designer!? x_x

I went to check out the new image gallery a few days ago. It was great because I got to see one of my favorite artists pieces. It was my first time seeing Barry McGee's wooden canvases in real life. It's nice to see the handwork instead of just pictures of them. There were many other pieces that I enjoyed. Though like many openings, the gallery was packed. However, I got there kind of late so the crowd started dying out after I got in.

Friend and I joined the critical mass ride over at santa monica yesterday. It was pretty nice to be able to ride with a large group of people. The only part I hated was that there were too many street lights and stop signs. Cops were everywhere helping escort and checking that we don't brake the law by running reds or not stopping when we were supposed to. I saw a few people getting tickets. Sucks to be them. :( I think i'll be joining more group rides this month. Critical mass was my 2nd group ride and sure won't be my last.

made it to san diego last night and i'm up and searching for the great places to get breakfast around the condo before doing some work today setting up the munky king booth. so far it seems like this place called "the mission" is overall the best at a decent walking distance. now let's just hope this can be a successful "mission" to get some good breakfast on this wonderful morning. i wish i brought my bike. it would have been faster and more fun to get around. maybe next year :)

I got back back around 11pm tonight after biking to and from dinner with a few classmates and friend over at savoy in Alhambra. 35 miles have been added to the other 15 miles I biked earlier this morning. That's 50 freakin' miles! I'm not as tired as I thought I'd be. But still tired. I'm just glad I made it home alive. It seemed like I was biking faster on the way back 'cause I wanted to be home asap. I think it has to do with the fact that I was biking in the dark and all I could think about was making it home alive.

Anyways, Savoy for the third time wasn't bad. The curry fish was pretty good but I still dig japanese style curry. The one served at Savoy was a bit weird. I don't really know how to explain it exactly. It was just light curry mixed in finely shredded up radish or something.

Just got back around half an hour ago from a ride back from my girlfriends place. It was nice and chill as I was biking through the streets where there weren't that many cars. I just wish there weren't random pebbles, glass, or anything on the road that could give me a flat. I haven't gotten one since I've really started to bike a lot. I don't plan to get one either. So I actually dropped by McDonald's to get some breakfast before I really took off home. I know, I know, so unhealthy but I wasn't about to go to a market and buy milk and cereal for the road. ha! Anyways, I think that was my work out for today. I don't know If I'll bike anymore today. I'll see. I'll be posting some daily art soon. (0-0)

Today is officially the first start of a fresh new week that I'm out of school. Summer 2008 will be self employed at home with out school. Sounds dangerous, doesn't it? I would like to think so. It's going to be very easy to fall in the hole of cyberspace called the internet and be stuck there all summer.

I'm going to try to commit to a couple of hours of painting, illustration, photography, ect. each day. I will post the work each day. So keep on checking back! It may just be a doodle, uncompleted painting, photograph of my friend nicks mom, or all of the above. :D

at our school we have a few annual art shows. there will be one held next weekend on may 24th called 2D/3D. It will also be showing works from graduating seniors at the same time. So come out and check it out! I'll have a few pieces on display as well as many other awesome art students in our department. went to check out takashi murakami pieces at blum & poe yesterday. pretty different but unique work from murakami. he seemed to go crazy with half tone style with some random live trace texture goodies. it was pretty neat that he used high glossy varnish to bring out different designs. i'm not really sure what the medium was. i want to say some kind of print/silkscreen. not sure if there was any brush work. then again, his work is always super clean so it's hard to tell.

i've yet to go to RAM to see mcgee's show. soon!!!

so my buddy, colby and i brought our bikes to school. after we took off for our first ride over to a near by chipotle i ran into him within the first 10 or so feet or riding and we both fell. It led my previous scab to reopen and bleed freely through my jeans. it was awesome. so that's not all. half way there my tire blew. probably due to low psi in my back tire. so i went to get a new tire and a hand pump and we were off again. we biked a few mini uphill roads which killed us. but overall we had a nice time riding around and getting used to fixed gear bikes, fixies, or what have you. i think i'm going to have some crazy looking thighs by the end of this month. o_o

so i finally purchased my fixie. i'm waiting patiently as it is supposed to arrive at my doorstep this monday. after talking to a lot of people i decided to get the mercier kilo tt (60)/green. I think i might go to a huge parking lot and get used to fixed gear biking. I think a week of that should set me off safely to the streets, or maybe not.

I was recently in a group show at gallery nucleus. 'Power in numbers' pt.3. If you're in the area, please go check it out. A lot of great artwork at a fixed price of only $100. Some $50. There's a set of mini 1.5"x1.5" faces that are not pictured on the site.

driving home from work sick

So driving home from work yesterday night I felt like I had a fever. My body was numb. Head was pounding. Feeling like shit would just sum it up. So I turned on the radio 'cause I haven't so in soo long. It was 8pm so I told myself "Chocolate City @ 8pm on kcrw 89.9fm!"It was a radio show I used to try to listen to all the time when I didn't have a mp3 or cd player in the car. Oh my... the first track they played gave me this rare feeling that just totally woke me up. Goose bumps. Head bumpin. Dancing in my car seat. It made the ride home enjoyable. The city lights of downtown LA sparked like glistening stars. I was weaving through traffic. woo. Then when I got home and got out of my car I felt like shit again. boo. But after 7 or so hours of sleep I feel like a champ again. I think it's just lack of sleep that's been killing me.

This morning I was doing my daily RSSing. An article that caught my attention was about machines that vend Pot, Weed, Herb, Grass, The Sticky Green, you name it. This all takes place in the city of angels. Los Angeles. I guess this is good news for all the pot heads and stoners. What's next? Vending machines with meds? Vicodin, please.

Some pictures I took around Downtown Fullerton on December 26th. I was really bored during winter break and had to get out and do something other than just stare at the computer screen all day. I do apologize in advance some some crappy pictures. haha. I didn't really filter out the good and bad. I just kind dragged the whole set I took to flickr.
